From 0 to 10k 2010-11-16 Earlier this year I wrote about Chris Ferguson, a well known poker professional that makes a living off Full Tilt Poker, one of the top Texas Holdem sites on the Internet. That article mentioned something interesting that he had done: he turned $0 into $ 10k just to prove a point. This is a great story as there are a lot of people out there that are not willing to wager any of their own money playing a card game. The Chris Ferguson Challenge demonstrates that it is possible to earn thousands of dollars on money poker sites by working hard and never giving up.
The steps of the Chris Ferguson Challenge were straightforward: open an account on the Fulltiltpoker download, start with nothing, and eventually finish with a $ 10k bankroll. Ferguson decided that he would donate this bankroll to the Save the Children Foundation once it was all over. Good players know that in order to succeed on the best US poker sites, they must manage their bankrolls properly. Because of this, Ferguson set up the following rules for himself: 1) Participate in freerolls until a real money bankroll is established. 2) Do not enter a Sit&Go on the Full Tilt Poker download for greater than 5% of the total bankroll except for $2.50 stakes. 3) Do not enter a multi-table tourney for over two percent of the total bankroll (except for $ 1 and below). The Chris Ferguson Challenge went on for a very long time because earning money via freerolls on the best Mac poker sites is extremely difficult. You might even be shocked to know that it was over 7 months before Ferguson had a steady bankroll of $6.50! Ferguson fought through this bad variance like a pro, of course. His first major breakthrough came when he placed 2/683 in a $ 1 tournament and won $ 104 in prize money. This huge boost in the bankroll meant no more freerolls, but there was still plenty of work ahead. To make a lot of money fast you must be incredibly lucky, even on US friendly poker sites. It wasn't until 9 months after his $ 1 MTT score that he finally succeeded and had $ 10,000. The most important thing to note about the Chris Ferguson Challenge is that it is highly unlikely to succeed at such a challenge while lacking bankroll management. For tips on this, I strongly suggest you get some applicable free poker training. It is impossible to be a long term winner otherwise. 0 Responses to "From 0 to 10k"Leave a reply | Author
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
